Step-by-Step Instructions
Separate biscuits from a 16-ounce can and place on cutting board.
Cut a circle from the middle of each biscuit using a 1-inch round cutter. Set the small biscuit circles aside.
Place 4 biscuits in your air fryer. Cook for 5 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Flip the biscuits over and cook for another 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining biscuits. Cook the biscuit “donut holes” for 5-7 minutes.
While the biscuits are cooking, mix 3 cups of powdered sugar, 4 Tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a medium mixing bowl.
If desired, divide the glaze evenly and tint with red or pink food coloring.
Set a baking rack over a sheet pan and place the warm biscuit donuts on it. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes or until cool enough to handle. Heat the glaze in the microwave for 20 seconds and dip the donuts in the glaze, shaking off the excess. Immediately cover with sprinkles and place the dipped donuts on the baking rack to set. (It’s easiest to work with one glaze at a time so you don’t have to constantly be heating up different bowls.)
To cover the biscuit donut holes, heat the glaze and roll the holes in the warm glaze with a fork until coated. Carefully place on the baking rack to dry.
Serve immediately and store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Recipe Tips and Substitutions
These biscuit donuts are out-of-this world delicious! But they won’t taste exactly like a bakery donut. If you want to get the taste as close as possible, you can try use frozen biscuits, store-brand jumbo biscuits, or the honey butter biscuits.
Everyone’s air fryer is a little different, so you may need to cook your donuts longer or shorter than I did. I’ve seen some recipes say you only need 5 minutes at 360 degrees, but I found my biscuit donuts were perfectly cooked with 5 minutes on each side at 350 degrees.
You’ll want the glaze to be runny when you dip the donuts or you won’t get an even coat. That’s why it’s best to work with one glaze at a time.
The glaze hardens quickly, so you need to dip your donuts fast! It may be best to have two people work on dipping if you can.
If you want to make your donuts extra-fancy, you can try some decorating techniques like only putting sprinkles on part of the donuts or using a piping bag to add zig-zag stripes or hearts.
Try these additional toppings for your air fryer biscuit donuts:
- Cinnamon sugar – Dip your donuts in some melted butter and then shake in a bag of cinnamon sugar.
- Melted candy wafers – You can see an example of this decoration with these Easter Air Fryer Biscuit Donuts.
- Melted store-bought frosting
- Chocolate glaze – Just add some cocoa powder to your powdered sugar glaze.
These donuts taste extra delicious if you warm them in the microwave for 5-10 seconds before enjoying!

FAQs
You can use any type of pre-made biscuit you want for these donuts, but you’ll get the best results from a non-layer biscuit.
Try these options:
-Southern homestyle
-Jumbo
-Frozen buttermilk
-Honey butter
You can still make these donuts without a cookie cutter! Use any small 1-inch circles you have on hand like caps from a milk jug or soda bottle. Or you can just use your finger to create the hole in the middle.
Yes! Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly spray your donuts with cooking spray (or brush them with melted butter), and bake them on a non-stick cookie sheet for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
