These creepy crawly Halloween Dirt Cups feature simple ingredients like sandwich cookies, gummy worms, and pre-made pudding. You won’t believe how easy they are to make and how fun they are to eat!

I had so much fun making this classic dirt pudding recipe with a Halloween twist.
You’ll recognize the familiar pudding base, “Oreo dirt”, and gummy worms. But it’s topped with a special Halloween-themed sandwich cookie tombstone.
It’s sweet and creamy, creepy-crawly, and oh-so delicious!
Plus, the individual servings make it perfect for a kid’s Halloween party.
This recipe works because it’s:
- Quick and simple, with only a handful of ingredients.
- An individual dessert that’s easy for kids to eat.
- A familiar treat with a few tweaks for Halloween.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Add 4 Oreos to a sandwich bag and use your hands or a rolling pin to smash them into crumbs.

Next, remove the lids from 4 chocolate pudding cups, and sprinkle a thin layer of Oreo crumbs over each cup, completely covering the pudding.

Use black icing gel to write “RIP” on 4 Milano milk chocolate cookies, tall side up.

Then stick one “tombstone cookie” towards the back of each pudding cup.
Finally, gently push the ends of 1-2 gummy worms into the “Oreo dirt” and pudding.

Serve immediately or refrigerate until serving.

Recipe Tips and Substitutions

You can definitely use the whole Oreo for this recipe, or you use can use the leftover pieces from these Oreo Bats or these Gooey Oreo Eyeballs.
I made this dessert super easy by just using the plastic cups that the pudding was already in, but you can make them even fancier by putting the pudding in some clear plastic drink cups.
In addition, you can crush even more Oreos and layer the pudding with the crushed Oreos in clear cups for a layered dessert.
Try these additional toppings to really make these graveyard pudding cups festive:
- Candy pumpkins
- Candy bones
- Frosting “grass”
- Candy eyes
- Candy skulls
- Gummy eyeballs
- Piped chocolate trees
- Replace the cookie tombstones with these Nutter Butter Ghosts
I used regular chocolate pudding for these dirt cups but you could also use the chocolate-swirled pudding cups.
You can try the other Milano cookie flavors like dark chocolate, raspberry chocolate, or toasted marshmallow for a different flavor.
I used sour gummy worms because I liked the colors, but you could use just regular gummy worms if you don’t like the sour ones!
If you’d like finer Oreo crumbs you can use a food processor. I went the easy route and just used a sandwich bag so there were fewer dishes to clean!

If you can’t find the black icing gel, you can use an edible ink marker or some melted black candy wafers that you squeeze on with a piping bag.
